Rahul Varshney is a young and promising dancer of Guru Deba Prasad Das Gharana. He began his journey in Odissi dance at the tender age of 5 under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Jyoti Shrivastava (an eminent Odissi dancer). He aims to take Odissi classical dance a step further, striving for expertise in the Tandava compositions of Guru Deba Prasad Das Gharana. Dance is his religion and his performances exude his reverence. His dance is full of vigour, power, and enthusiasm which is commensurate with the masculine energy.Rahul Varshney is a Nritya Visharad, an ICCR Empanelled artist, Graded artist from Delhi Doordarshan, Senior Scholarship holder from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Recipient of junior Scholarship from CCRT (Centre for Cultural Resources & Training, Govt of India) as well.He has learned and gained experience by participating in various dance programs, workshops, Lec-Dems, and festivals conducted by different organizers, eminent dancers, and Gurus over the last 24 years.He is a worthy torchbearer for all the male performers of his generation in Odissi, He aims to leave no stone unturned to make his mark in the enigmatic world of Odissi. He is an active member and performer in the group “SAMSIDDHI”- formed by CCRT Alumnus, He is also a Founder Director at SOCH (school of creative hands) and performing artist at Vaishali Kala Kendra, Noida- the leading institution of research and training in Odissi dance, (founded by Dr. Jyoti Shrivastava).
